I’d be lying if I said I have lacked updating this short while due to laziness. No, that is not the truth, regardless of how busy this past month has been for me. In the midst of numerous shows, meetings, work, and a move (which led to lack of internet), I ended up losing a single sticky note which held the key to accessing my website. I should know by now that sticky notes aren’t very reliable. You buy them in multiple colours, all pretty and whatnot, yet they always end up disappearing when you need them most. I don’t trust sticky notes. Regardless, I have garnered the info back to this website (no thanks to a sticky note), and have come here to tell you some very important- and very delayed- news.
The Alexandria Maillot CD Funding Project was a success.
Did you hear me? No, I don’t think you did. Let me try again.
The Alexandria Maillot CD Funding Project was a

SUCCESS!
$10,233 was raised as time dwindled to the last few seconds of May 17th, the deadline of my project. I never thought it would be possible. In fact, I was ready to throw in the towel and rent a bunch of John Hughes movies and buy a few candy bags to numb the punch-to-the-gut feeling you get when you watch something you have wanted for so long slowly fall from your grasp. But, all that turned around when a few angels pledged a very generous amounts to my project. And, I will be forever grateful for everyone who paid it forward to my dream. I promise to make all of you proud, and give you all the recognition you fully deserve for donating to my project.
Now, the fun stuff.
In the next month, I will be going in to the studio to record the rest of the material for the Just Another Girl EP, as well as get some merch designed for the store portion of my website. Following that, I will be doing a music video for a single that will be released with my EP. Oh, that reminds me. You are all probably wondering when Just Another Girl will be coming out? I haven’t decided on a particular date yet, but I do know that will fall around July 24- August 6. I want to make this as big as I have dreamed. So, that will give me enough time to figure out a few promo ideas. I will, however be giving a few sneak peeks prior to the release, and every one who donated to my project will be receiving a special edition EP before it is released.
So, I just want to take the time to acknowledge the list of backers on my project. This is just the beginning of many things coming to these following people:

- Jennifer Lyons
- Beth
- Gary
- Noriko Okamoto

“Just Another Girl” CD Funding Project

For those of you who don’t know, I am currently doing a CD funding project for my upcoming album I will be releasing in the coming months. I am VERY excited, and have been anticipating the release of my album for quite some time, but being an independent artist has its hardships (I’m sure you’re familiar with the term ”starving musician”). Thus, I had the brilliant idea of starting up a funding project through a site called Kickstarter to help offset the costs. The way it works, is you set a goal amount of money you wish to make, and you have a certain amount of time to fund said amount. I put mine to $10,000, which may seem like a ton of money, but it truly only covers the basics. Now, if I don’t make the $10,000 by my deadline, which so happens to be May 17, then I don’t get any of the money that was raised throughout the project.
$3,733 down. $6,267 to go. Can we do it? Probably not. But, it ain’t over ’til it’s over.
If you are interested in donating to my project, you can do so here. Then you can pledge anywhere from $10 to $1,000 bucks, and every pledge comes with a reward of some sort. Every dollar counts, literally, and I only have 11 days to pull this off. I have faith in myself and in my vision, and I hope there are a few of you out there willing to invest in a dream. Let’s make some magic.
